As a homeschool mom, STEAM Fest is one of my favorite events of the year. And this year, it was bigger and better than ever!
STEAM Fest was created to get kids K-12 excited about STEAM subjects: science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
There’s always so much to do! From classes to exhibits, kids get the chance for hands-on experimentation. I love watching them interact with the world God created!
This year, we had everything from cool crafts boxes to paper airplanes. There was something for everyone!
There’s always interesting things to look at and study. Insects through a microscope were a huge hit. At this booth, kids were able to make their own insects from pipe cleaners!
As always, we loved seeing the Indian River Fire Department! They taught the kids about fire safety, and even let them try on their heavy gear! Thanks for everything you do to keep our community safe!
The Indian River County Sheriff made an appearance, too! This year, they let the kids draw on a cop car with whiteboard markers. How fun is that!
The kids could also participate in various lessons. This one was all about drums! I loved watching the kids learn different ways to play the instrument. It made for some great photos!
Steam Fest is always a blast! A highlight this year was Mad Science. They do everything from birthdays to after-school programs! This presentation was so awesome, I learn new things every year.
I can’t wait for next year’s Steam Fest. If you’re curious to read about last year’s awesome adventures, tap here for more STEAM-filled fun!
