Shelby is a great friend of mine, and she’s an amazing documentary/portrait photographer in the West Palm Beach area. She totally understands the importance of taking family photos, so I was thrilled when the time came for our 1/2 Day In The Life session!
I followed the family around their daily activities, and it was great to photograph them doing things they would normally do!
These are the memories that I know they’ll miss the most as the kids grow up, so we made sure to capture some winners.
This session was super exciting because they had recently moved in with their grandfather. Adjusting to a new home is always a challenge, but everyone was taking things in stride! I hope you’re all settling in nicely.
Thea is about to start kindergarten. She is so cute! I couldn’t resist her adorable smile.
The house was a bit dark during our session, so we opened curtains and did our best to shoot by windows to get some natural sunlight.
Having a documentary-style photo session doesn’t mean that you have to forego the normal portraits! Those are important too, and why not, since I have my camera out?
We took our portraits behind a restaurant next to a dumpster, haha. It doesn’t show in the photos, which proves that you don’t necessarily need a location that’s gorgeous from every angle—although that’s fun, too!
Overall, the day was so much fun. I love how easygoing Shelby and her family were! They’re such great clients to work with.
1/2 Day in the Life sessions are always a blast! It was an honor tagging along with your family, and I hope to do it again soon!
