WHAT IS A DAY IN THE LIFE SESSION?
Day In The Life sessions tell the story of you and your everyday life by capturing one day in pictures. It is a way to freeze time and document what life is like, capture special moments and remember priceless moments for years to come. It is also a way to share those special moments with grandparents, friends and family.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
You pick one day -- a normal, mundane day — when I, Sennu Maria Keith from Stories of Joy Photography, will join your family for the whole day, starting when your children wake up, and ending when the children have gone to bed that night. Which can be anywhere up to 12 hours. I will join you in all your activities, whether that is running errands, or staying at home. I will portray your day and your family in a series of professional and artistic photos, telling the story of your day, and your family, right now. When your child(ren) have a nap time, or if they go to school, I usually make a few pictures of you whatever it is you do during this time, but it is also a good time for me to take a break during this long session.
There is no need to pose or stage your home life - these are photos for you to portray your real life at this moment in time. There is nothing better than real life, and real life is what you'll want to remember ten, twenty years from now. I will work very hard to capture special moments of love and joy, as well as all the naughty moments. My goal is to show in my images how hard parenting is, but also how rewarding. I work very hard to make sure to tell your story in high quality professional images.
Within the first hour of me being in your home, you realize you don't really even notice the camera anymore. You are too busy with all the demands of your family! It is like having a friend come over for the day. One client wrote to me after their Day In The Life session:

AFTER THE DAY IN THE LIFE SESSION
It takes me approximately four weeks to deliver the galleries from a Day In The Life session. I will end up with thousands of raw files taken that day. I want to make sure you end up with high quality pictures from your session, so I carefully go through and select the best images that not only tell the story of your family, but also ones I know you will appreciate. At the end of the editing process you will first see a movie (slideshow) I have made from the best 100 images of the day. You will also have two galleries to view online: a smaller one, The Story Gallery, around 100 of the best images, hand-edited by me, and a larger gallery, The Full Gallery, of about 300 images, telling the full story of the day. You will be given packaged options on digital image files, and/or making them into a photo book (which is what I recommend). And I am always happy to help you order wall art through my professional lab.
A $300 deposit is required to reserve your session, and payment plans are available.
Short Day in the Life Sessions (typically a morning or an evening) are available from 2.5 hrs, starting at $495.
When you see your pictures from your day, make sure to have tissues nearby.
